The storyline of You People

Ezra Cohen and Mo host a podcast about African-American issues. Ezra goes to his synagogue for Yom Kippur and faces inappropriate comments from the congregation and his family. He meets Amira Mohammed and the two start dating and eventually live together. Ezra plans to propose to Amira but faces opposition from both of their parents. Ezra quits his job and they invite both sets of parents to discuss the wedding plans but they clash. Ezra and Amira spend time with each parent separately, but they continue to disapprove of their relationship.
